After a somewhat stressful trip, we have arrived in the US. We had a LOT of help in Frankfurt from Christine who tried to keep me sane during check in and in Chicago from my brother who met us at the airport and helped lugging all of the luggage. We also met some nice people on the plane who traded seats with us and pushed one of the luggage cart through customs for us.
Now, we're back in the US! A few observations :
- iced beer glasses, that is just wrong!
- coffee served with breakfast, yuck. I gotta get used to American coffee again
- meals ordered and served and eaten so fast, you don't even remember being there
- we LOVE the kids meals at every restaurant. These kids have been spoiled and they are loving it.
- shopping on Sunday, do I need to say more !!!
- the selection is overwhelming. We have gone to the store to get things for the house and left on several occassions because there was just too much choice and we couldn't decide.
We registered the girls for school and closed on our house today. Tomorrow the rental furniture arrives and we will move into our house. The kids went crazy when they saw it and are very excited.

Welcome home guys!
Ahhh, reverse culture shock! For about three weeks, I just did not have the engery to go grocery shopping. The milk seemed so far away from the front door of the store! What are all these new products? Which salad dressing to buy? Good luck getting used to the coffee! Glad you all made it safely.
