Sunday in Fischbach

Today we made soap and decorated it, from a kit which comes with some molds, colors and scents. We made some Christmas molds and some Chinese characters.

Then we went to the small festival in our town. The kids went on rides and we saw the big log which is always put up by the side of the busy road at this time of the year and there is a chair on the log. A dummy is put on the chair and then the next town tries to steal our town's dummy. Don't really understand it but we see it each year.

Under Construction

As you will see I am in the process of changing the look of the blog - very tired of the orange!

I don't know how to do this but I am learning as I go so please bear with me. I hope to be done in a week or so, until I get tired of that design ....

GW Culture Club - Fall BBQ

We had a BBQ for adoptive parents and for soon to be adoptive parents at our house this weekend. The weather was great and it was an opportunity for families to meet and trade stories.

Here is the host, Mark, who is the Regional Office Director for Great Wall in Europe(and most places outside of the US).

The youngest attendee was Wen Li who joined her family last December.
She is almost 19 months old and very active.

Here are the older children (it is hard for me to say that and realize that Ji Ji is now one of the older children).

Here are some of the Moms and Dads and soon to be Moms and Dads.

Here are all of the kids having some good food.

Judy's Birthday

After spending one week in London for work, I came back to have my birthday celebration. The girls helped their Dad to make a cake and a special meal. The girls each picked out a puzzle for me.

Did you ever see this? When you have a puzzle half done, you can roll it up and put it away until later to finish - very cool! I've tried it already and it really works.

I made a cake to take to work. I keep trying to lear ncake decorating but at some point I will need to take the classes because my flowers are not getting any better!
